Doctor dies first in Meghalaya from Corona

नई दिल्ली, 15 अप्रैल 2020. मेघालय में कोरोनावायरस से संक्रमित एक वरिष्ठ चिकित्सक जॉन एल सेलो रेनथयांग ने बुधवार को एक अस्पताल में दम तोड़ दिया। पहाड़ी राज्य में कोरोनावायरस से मौत का यह पहला मामला है।

डॉक्टर की मौत की पुष्टि करते हुए, मेघालय के मुख्यमंत्री कोनराड के. संगमा ने कहा,

"मुझे यह बताते हुए गहरा दुख हो रहा है कि मेघालय में पहला कोरोनावायरस पॉजिटिव मरीज का आज सुबह (बुधवार) को निधन हो गया। उसके परिवार और प्रियजनों के प्रति मेरी हार्दिक संवेदना, उनकी आत्मा को शांति मिले।"

कोनराड के. संगमा के मुताबिक शिलॉन्ग और नोंगपोह में बेथनी अस्पताल के आसपास के क्षेत्रों को सील कर दिया गया है। डॉक्टर के प्राथमिक संपर्कों की सूची और माध्यमिक संपर्कों को एकत्रित किया जा रहा है।

We are engaged in the process of contact tracing so that the primary contacts are isolated, quarantined & tested at the earliest. ??? isolation units are ready. Food and other arrangements are being provided for individuals in the isolation wards and the Corona Care Centres.
