Beginning of UP Yatra proposed to pass through the fields and granaries to Universities for the cause of of constitution, democracy and promote justice, equality and brotherhood
Yatra will pass through fields and granaries to universities.
Lucknow 31 August 2018. To uphold the sanctity of constitution and democracy and promote justice, equality and brotherhood social organizations are starting out for UP Yatra yesterday. Addressing to journalist the coordinators of the Yatra said that the constitution, democracy and social justice is continuously under attack. This Yatra is an effort to stand in solidarity and work with movements of villages and towns. The Yatra progarmmes have been divided into four phases to cover Uttar Pradesh. First phase begins today from Lucknow and preceed enroute to Sultanpur, Jaunpur, Azamgarh, Mau, Balia, Ghazipur, Varanasi, Bhadohi, Allahabad, Pratapgarh, Rai brailly and conclude in Lucknow on 5 September. Yatra, thus passing through villages and towns will cover a distance of about two thousand kilometres.
Addressing the press confrerence on the occasion of starting out of the Yatra Mohd Shoaib, Ajay Singh, Shivmurti, Nadeem Hasnain, Rakesh, Ahmad Iqbal, OP Sinha said that the initiative taken by social organizations specially youth is welcome and praiseworthy. They alledged that the arrests of human rights and democratic rights leaders is an attack on democracy and the government is bent upon trampling the voice of dessent. These voices are the base of democracy and supreme court has also upheld this view. To be in the villages and towns and talk to the people there on the questions like social justice, constitution is the need of the time. The coordinators of the Yatra Ghufran Siddiqi and Rajive Yadav said, UP being a vast state, that the questions and grievances of the people from villages and towns and even sometime from districts does not come on the surface. Four phase Yatra is an effort to raise such questions and grievances. Rights of deprived classes have been continuously under attack in Jaunpur, Azamgarh and Balia. Apart from this the questions of students and youths would be discussed in BHU, Allahabad university and BBU. Farmers in eastern UP are continuously facing agricultural crisis and dangers of land acquisition and at the same time questions of weavers in Azamgarh, Mau, Varanasi and Bhadohi would be of great importance. The coordinators told that exchange of views with youth would be focus of the Yatra. It is aimed to undrstand the questions sprouting in their minds regarding serious issues of youths like employment. They told that Mohd. Shoaib, Srijan Yogi Aadiyog, Shakieel Quraishi, Ravish Alam, Shahrukh, Mehdi Hasan Aini, Ashish Kumar, Deepak, Jyoti Rai, Pervez etc. will be part of the Yatra today.
