Up till now, the CBI or the police did not need the prior permission of the government for investing allegations of corruption, but now this provision has been changed.
Now, the police or the CBI can begin the investigation only after obtaining the prior permission of the government.
The permission of the government is seldom given to prosecute a public servant; now to protect the corrupt even the investigation of the allegation of corruption against the public servants has been barred.
This provision has been made to give the corrupt public servants sufficient time to destroy evidence of corruption and conceal the ill-got money and other assets.
The measure may also get Modi the political support of the corrupt and their families. And with one stroke he has also protected the politicians cutting across parties.
THUS MODI HAS EMERGED AS THE GUARDIAN ANGEL OF THE CORRUPT.
