justice for Khalid Mujahid

Tomorrow, 20th June 2013, we will have completed 30 days to the dharna organized for justice for Maulana Khalid Mujahid. The State and its functionaries, especially the police has unleashed an attack on the most marginalized sections Uttar Pradesh.

The police and the Investigation Bureau(IB) realized that Khalid was going to be released, and he could depose against them. They, therefore, killed him and later claimed him to have expired due to illness. Rihai Manch has foiled this attempt with the help of people’s support.

This fight is not just for Khalid but for all those innocent muslim youth who have been imprisoned in the name of terrorism. Samajwadi party had also promised to release them all and is now running away from the same. Today the SP has supressed the RD Nimesh Commission report that had given evidence for the innocence of Tariq and Khalid. It is clear today how Khalid was arrested on the directions of the IB and how they made available to the UP Special Task Force(STF) explosives to be later found with the two youth. After their innocence was proved, it was also clear how high police and IB officials like Vikram Singh, Brijlal, Amitabh Yahs,Manoj Kumar Jha, Chiranjeev Nath Sinha, S. Anand are associated with the HuJi. HuJi was the very organization with which Tariq and Khalid were falsely linked.

In this context, these police and IB officials should be immediately arrested. We have several times raised this issue with Akhilesh Yadav that by protecting these officials he is himself garnering terrorism in the state. Therefore, we will continue our fight to protect our democracy until they are imprisoned.

With this background, we request and urge you, in order to save our democracy and to save the politics of justice, that you join us in our indefinite dharna on the 30th day in front of the Vidhan Sabha. We will continue to sit in to claim justice for Khalid Mujahid and for all other innocent youth like him who have been imprisoned.
