Lucknow. Centre for Objective Research and Development(CORD) in a press statement through its Director, Athar Husain has condemned the act of Mr Azam Khan of writing a letter to UN Secretary General on the plight of minorities in India.
Athar Husain said, “Azam Khan as an individual is also the Cabinet Minister of UP Govt, and Dadri incident of hate campaign and resultant Mr Akhlaq's murder happened in UP, so by writing to UN on that count Mr Khan has taken the onus of entire happening of Dadri on his Govt and due to collective responsibility of Cabinent, on himself too.“
“Further, with the rising pitch of hate mongering from Ranchi, Jharkhand to Dadri, UP by certain forces to reap political dividends for a particular political party which follows ideology which has roots in mistrust for religious minorities this statement adds fuel to fire and lets situation get detrimental for social fabric for the country. Further, considering Mr Khan's statements ramification on these fronts CORD demands his removal from Cabinet of UP Govt with immediate effect and UP Govt to ensure Rule of Law in UP where any illegal act of purchase or sale of banned product be brought to justice as well as hate mongering and resultant killing of innocent Indian be also brought to justice”, added Athar Husain.
