The All India Forum for Right to Education (AIFRTE) invites you to an all-India March to Parliament and People’s Parliament in Delhi on 21st October 2013 to resist commercialization and communalization of education. The March will start on 21st October at 9:30 am from Ramlila Maidan to culminate at Parliament Street into a People’s Parliament from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

Teachers, intellectuals, students, workers, and activists representing more than 37 organisations from 18 states and 21 organisations from Delhi shall demand a fully state-funded and free public education system from ‘KG to PG’, including a Common School System up to Class XII, and equal opportunity to pursue higher education in consonance with the Constitution. The demonstration will also seek repeal of the pro-commercialization and exclusionary agenda of the Right to Education Act, particularly its scheme of fee reimbursement to profit-making private schools and demand withdrawal of the higher education Bills pending in Parliament designed to impose WTO-GATS.

The People’s Parliament will pass a Resolution and constitute a delegation to submit a Memorandum to the Prime Minister to save and reconstructIndia’s education system.
