It happens quite often that knowingly or unknowingly we get trapped in the whirlwind of negative emotions. By the time we realize we had gone off track, much damage is already done to our emotional state of being (notwithstanding the collateral loss that accompanies). Negative emotions attack stealthily. Many a times we fail to realize the wrong side that we have taken mistakenly. Surprisingly, it doesn't take a colossal issue to ignite our inner demons, just anything under the sun is capable of getting us on the rough terrain where we end up hurting ourselves more than the real target (most of the times imaginary) person or situation. The most characteristic feature of this negativity is that it brings out the worst in us. After having been gripped by the demon of this disastrous emotion we start thinking on those tracks which were alien to us in happier times.

Every situation where we get stuck up in the mess of negativity demands one thoughtful moment in which we surrender our lopsided vision to give way to more open ideas that fuel the sparks of positivity. The journey from negative to positive starts from one plain thought which reminds us of the wastefulness of our grouses. The moment we think about the harm that this extreme emotion does to our well being, we recoil.

Our positive frame of mind helps us in looking at things in a much lighter manner without adding up the weight of our false ego to it. It is always good to be light for heaviness takes a heavier toll on our physical, mental and emotional well being pushing us on the margins. Even if a situation goes out of hand it is advisable to repair it on the first occasion before it moves to a beyond-repair state. This eagerness to set things right will work wonders and give us the right perspective to view things impartially.

The worldly wisdom says 'nothing is good or bad but thinking makes it so.' When we have such powerful weapon in the form of 'thinking' with us, we must make the maximum utilization of it to convert our negative energy into positive overflows. This conscious effort on our part will pay rich dividends to us on both short and long term basis. All it needs is mindfulness to take the corrective course that will bring us back on the right track. All this transformation should be smooth and easy without self accusatory stance. Burden of blame will further weaken our minds, it is better to stay liberal and compassionate to ourselves. We learn to be compassionate in our dealings with others. Why not apply the same principle to our wounded and bruised egos. It will certainly make life simple and livable for us. There is no dearth of difficulties already so why add one more to the cache.

Positivity sets us free. It brings joyousness and gaiety. It helps us stay confident and face life's challenges with a broad smile without lamenting for the losses. Positivity breeds happiness and happiness is the ultimate objective of our life. Whatever we do we do in order to secure a happy life. A positive state gives us enormous strength to brace up for the upcoming difficulties that stare us in the face. All it requires is a thought to bring it back from the clutches of a negative emotion that threatens our present and is capable of ruining our future. So next time when you are stung by the nefarious negativity-just shrug it off and 'think' because positive thinking holds the key to all remedies.
