Aligarh , 06 June 2014 : “ The culture of violence is evidently becoming the predominant culture of our country. Every day brings new and shocking examples of how easily differences in views or expression lead to physical violence and even murders and the recent case is that of murder of Sheikh Mohsin Sadiq, an IT professional from Pune who has been murdered by Hindu Rashtra Sena (HRS) activists”, said Prof. Razaullah Khan while presiding over a governance analysis meeting held by the Millat Bedari Muhim Committee (MBMC ) Aligarh at Media Centre Aligarh. He said that just taking excuse of up-loading a photo on facebook for murder is not acceptable.
Jasim Mohammad Secretary of MBMC said that have Indians forgotten civilised and legal ways of resolving disputes or differences ? Murder of Mohsin Sadiq is one of the more grotesque and insane instance of the resort to killing in recent times. He reminded that it is not the first time when activists of HRS have indulged in unlawful activities. Earlier also we saw cinema theatres being wrecked by them because they do not like film released in that hall. He said that presently large chunk of our ruling leadership at Centre has kept a deadly silence over ghastly murder in Pune and we are worried. Something must be done. He called upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene in the matter to keep up his promise of development and justice to all sections of Indian citizenry.
Prof. Shahabuddin Iraqi said that every shade of communalism and terrorism must be dealed with an iron hand and the activities of HRS clearly falls within the definition of terrorism. Hence the Central government shouls impose a ban on its activities which may lead country to chaos in future.
AMU EC member Dr. Mohammad Shahid said that the political establishment as a whole is guilty of turning a deaf ear to those who instigate their followers to violence or killings. Those who fail to condemn such outrageous behaviour are complicit by their silence in the crime. He said that it is the tragedy of our time that the role models today for frustrated and unemployed youths are either fire spitting politicians or mafia dons. This violent culture in name of undefined nationalism should not be allowed to spread unchallenged.
N. Jamal Ansari Member of MBMC pointed out that though Narendra Modi has always accused former Prime Minister that he keeps silence but today he is keeping himself a deadly silence on the murder of Mohsin Sadiq. He must contain March of hindutva terrorism and make his stand clear on the issue.
In the last of the meeting MBMC passed a resolution unanimously condoling the untimely death of Sheikh Mohsin Sadiq in Pune. In another resolution the MBMC has demanded that the Central government should come out with its policies on such incidents.
