Ban on meat has been extended to Jammu & Kashmir and Rajasthan from Maharashtra indicates that Hindu nationalism is taking space with the dictate of prevention. Freedom of choice of people's way of living is being bulldozed by saffron democracy of BJP Government. Puritan way of living is absolutism being designed by States of Maharashtra, Jammu & Kashmir and Rajasthan shows of minority appeasement to galvanize the communal division in Indian Society in the name of protecting religious sentiment of a minority community, disturbing and controlling others believing or disbelieving in religion.
Ban on fish has been lifted by BMC and State Government during Jain's religious festival (almost eight days), surprises that Fish eating during festival does not hurt the sentiment of Jain community? The wrath of huge number of Koli community had already been calculated in political arena of Maharashtra. But, the lacs of Muslims who live on sale of meat, has been ignored, says saffron communal prejudices to this community.
The communal division will profoundly hamper our natural way of life that has been so composite since time immemorial. Whatever we have history is being distorted in the name of rectification to suppress the emerging facts of struggle and restlessness in huge mass of downtrodden in India. Saffron views on history are biased and says such suppression was not the part of Indian society. So aversion, distortion, denial are the ethical features of present nationalist government, refuting all new but embracing all old canons to judge the present society. Accident is then inevitable.
Banning corruption, siphoning black money from Swiss Bank, preventing rhetoric may be a positive step but contrary of these, various conservative and religious bigotry Hindu outfits are mushrooming and killing the rationalist writers and intellectuals like Doctor Narendra Dhabolkar, Leftist writer and leader Govind Pansare and writer and professor M M Kulbargi. I have written of the heinous murder of rationalists and atheists of Bangladesh, condemning the Islamist fundamentalists. The Indian religious Hindu bigots created furore on those murders, blaming Bangladesh that is Muslim dominated state. Same thing is occurring in India and that is being designed by Hindu extremists. That is not healthy approach of taking India on developmental path.
The murder of such dissenting voice in saffron democracy has become a usual routine work to suppress is a big danger to the multicultural, multi -linguistic, multi-ethnic and multi-religious Indian society.
On the eve of International Hindi Conference, our PM Modi has produced a nationalist wave in support of Hindi language as national language that has created a ripple of protest in South India.
And the present saffron Government at centre and in few states of India want such linguistic division to precipitate communal agenda.
This very government has various faces and they use all simultaneously to adjust their own agenda. The books, films, paintings and other forms of arts are being banned to impose their own and absolute art and culture, impending logical progression of multicultural society. This very government is losing its grip on Indian society as a pioneer of development and will be replaced in three and half years by the same people of India, shifting towards other political party like Congress Party that has a long history of capitalistic development. Other political combinations are not seen ahead to replace these two centrist and saffron political parties in India. Possibly Left Parties must churn to catch thought and imagination of people of India in coming days.
Cultural hegemony of a nationalist government in multicultural society is a menacing sign and Indians must give a good retort to BJP in Bihar assembly.
