Delhi. The Socialist Party observed ‘Bring in Socialism-Defeat Capitalism’ campaign in all states from 8 October, the death anniversary of to 11 October, the birth anniversary of JP. Following pamphlet was distributed all over India to create public awareness in favour of socialism, and to defeat corporate capitalism.

The Socialist Party believes that the western capitalist model of development, which the rulers of India have been implementing since 1991, has wrought havoc on the nation. The much publicized mantra of growth-rate has thrown people out of jobs, hampered prospects of employment, increased prices of essential commodities and created inequality between the working classes and the wealthy ones by leaps and bounds. Fossil-fuel driven technology has harmed the environment and process of global warming is being accelerated. The Socialist Party asserts that this must be stopped and as per the spirit of the Constitution, socialism should be adopted for nation-building:

Public Meeting in Delhi on this occasion

Workers of the Socialist Party Delhi State distributed the above pamphlet in the city from 8th October to 11th October. To conclude ‘Bring in Socialism - Defeat Capitalism’ campaign, a public meeting was held at Batla House Chowk (Jamia Nagar) on 11 October at 7 pm. Dr. Prem Singh (general secretary), Ram Gopal Sisodia (member, national executive and former MLA), Renu Gambhir (president, Delhi State), Masud Khan (senior vice president, Delhi State), Prof. Dwijendra Kalia (vice president, Delhi State), Shaoor Khan (secretary, Delhi State), Dr. Ashwani Kumar (secretary, parliamentary board), Dr. Onkar Mittal, Khalid Bhai, Amar Visharat (social activists), Than Singh Josh and Shyam Gambhir (senior socialist leaders), Arun Tripathi (senior journalist), Rakhi Gupta (spokesperson, Socialist Party Delhi State), Dr. Muzaffar Husain Ghazali (senior journalist), (Anita Ujjainwal (Socialist Party’s Vidhan Sabha candidate from New Delhi), Niranjan Mahto (national general secretary, Socialist Yuvjan Sabha), Rakesh Kumar Dubey (convener, SYS) addressed the public meeting.
