I am shocked to know about sudden demise of the grand old man from the age of Babasaheb and Jogendra Nath Mandal, Gunadhar Burman is no more. He preside Bamcef Unification conference in Mumbai as well as Nagpur. He was a close associate of Kanshiram and had been actively committed to the cause of equity and social justice. He joined every meeting we called until his death.

Dr Buramn was a physician and used to see patients free of cost in Kontai. He berthed last in Kolkata. He was the man who organised trade union for the fishermen in Bengal and presided many ore social organisation and actively supported Dalit Sahitya movement in Bengal.

Specifically, he supported us to organise the ninety percent in resistance to reforms and Hindu imperialism. Lt. Col. Barves informed me while I had just entered Raipur in way to Nagpur.

Dr Burman was publishing a weekly Bengali newspaper, Aatma Niriksshan from Kontai. His associate Tapan Mandal told the cremation was scheduled this afternoon only.

Our friend Jagadish Haldar has interviewed DR. Burman in Nagpur. It is uploaded in You Tube.
