Don’t Misuse Love & Jehad : FMSA
Aligarh 28 August. Political Parties and the media are misusing love and Jehad both by combining them and trying to divide Indian society on communal lines said Jasim Mohammad While chairing a social and political scenario analysis meeting held by the Forum for Muslim Studies & Analysis (FMSA), on Media Centre Aligarh. He pointed out the this is not a new trend that young boys and girls belonging to two different communities are marrying each other nor it is a new phenomenon to change religion by them but after BJP came to power in centre one section of majority community is trying to polarize Indian society and the media is helping them without realizing that it is endangering communal harmony and peace in country.
N Jamal Ansari said that the role of media is not only negative but has flavour of partiality. In comparison of print media the electronic media is more disinforming masses and has made a personal issue national one.
Dr. Aftab Alam said that no one should be allowed to disrespect the holy word Jehad and all people should remember that Indian Constitution allows marriage between two mature boys and girls and it also permit to change their religion but some self appointed contractors of society are trying to damage peace within society.
Dr. G. F. Sabri said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised to develop all section of Indian civil society but is keeping a deadly silence over love Jehad. He should make his stand clear on the issue.
In the end of meeting FMSA passed a resolution unanimously condemning the attempts by a section to divide Indian society and appealed to Media not to sensitize it.
