Empowering women is top priority of the SP government- Akhilesh Yadav
Lucknow. Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav said, “Empowering women is top priority of the state government.”
On his official Facebook page shri Yadav announced some of the steps which UP govt have taken in this regard.
Shri Yadav said, “We have set up the Rani Laxmi Bai Women Empowerment Fund for helping out women needing monetary assistance. The corpus fund of around Rs 100-150 crore is to be earmarked for protection and rehabilitation of women who are survivors of violence and crime.
A '1090 Women Power Line’ - mobile phone app was launched that would help aggrieved women alert police about harassment in real time. The app allows automatic alerts and spot audio and video recording.”
“We have launched a Modern Police Control Room in Lucknow. The modern control room would aid in quick response from the local police and real time supervision by senior cops. The field cops would also be provided with hand held computing devices. Similar infrastructure would soon be launched in other major towns, including Allahabad, Ghaziabad and Varanasi”, added shri yadav.
Young chief minister said that use of modern technology is imperative for better policing and curbing crime incidents.
