The failure to meet the tall promises of development has unmasked both the Sangh Pariwar and its political face, the BJP. In the last elections promises were made about fighting corruption, to reign in the hike in prices, bringing back the black money and depositing Rs 15 lakh in the account of each of the citizens of this country, but after coming to power, they have made a total shift. The reality today is replete with not only scams, but crimes too. Vyapam is only tip of an iceberg.
The circle has become too vicious for the duo, that is for prime minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah. Entire Hindi region has become the killing fields for the communal forces. From Atali village in Haryana to Muradabad and north eastern parts of the national capital of Delhi, several riots have taken place just in last one year. Initiatives are taken to destroy the cultural fabric of the country itself. Despite the failure to declare India as a Hindu Rashtra, efforts are made to spread the communal frenzy all over the country.
The incidents that took place in Atali, a village between Faridabad and Vallabhagarh, on May 25, 2015 are examples of the same. The majority communal forces made an attack on the under construction mosque in the village. When the minority people opposed, their houses were set aflame. At least twenty houses were gutted. The residents in the area, mainly minority community people, took shelter at the local police station.
A delegation led by CPI MP D Raja visited the area and spoke to police officials to take action on the culprits immediately, since no action may encourage the criminal elements. The police remained passive and soon there erupted violence among the Jat and Dalit communities. Soon the Jat strongmen took aim at the mosque, and it turned into a bloodied attack on minorities. Despite the arrest of nine rioters out of 65, there is the grim shadow of fear prevailing in the entire victim community.
But it is not the story of Atali alone. There is the village near Palwal in Haryana, called Tikri Brahman that has witnessed the same stoning leading to communal tension. People from majority community from this village had joined those in Atali to protest against the arrest of rioters and block the road. There is heavy police bandobast and action force is also present.
It is not Haryana alone, there are parts of Uttar Pradesh too where such incidents of violence have become frequent. On July 4, one of the Hindu youth had posted a controversial picture in Nagphani in Muradabad that fanned up communal tension. People from the minority community gheraoed the police station and conveyed their unhappiness over police inaction.
These areas in UP have been always in the focus for the communal forces. Efforts were made earlier to disrupt peace between Dalits and the Muslims since with the polarization, they expected victory in the polls. However, BJP was not the winning party here. Now they are concentrating on the coming elections and the steps to start communal tension have been taken. Just two days after the Muradabad incident, even in front of a senior police official, two groups started fighting against each other in Meerut. It is the sacred month of Ramdaan, and the deputy inspector general had come to check the law and order situation in the Meerut- Saharanpur division. It is in these months only that ‘Kanwarias’ carrying sacred water walk to far off temples. Hence there was apprehension of disruption. Both the groups were invited to talk peace, though miserably failed.
In Delhi too, in its north eastern district, riot erupted in these months only. The park where the Muslims used to have their Namaz, was occupied by the RSS people who declared that nobody would be allowed to have Namaz there.
In the same park, RSS is organizing its conference on July 17 to 19, 2015, the days when it is Eid, the big Day for the minority community.
These events have created an atmosphere of terror among the minorities. It is the Sangh Pariwar that decides the height of the walls in the mosque, permission for loudspeakers at the time of Azaan, the food to be prepared in the festivals of Muslims, even the place where the leftovers are to be thrown. In fact it is the entire code of conduct prepared by the Sangh and to be followed by the Muslims, any violation may cause the severest punishment. In fact the entire initiative is focused to push the entire minority community into the B grade in the society. But they also know that the Constitution in the country would never permit them to succeed. Hence there is attack on Constitution too.
It may be pointed out here that the BJP-Sangh duo realize today that the composite culture in this country can never be destroyed. Not only that, any initiative in that direction would take away the popular support too received in elections.
Yet their efforts are directed to win the majority community support in the Hindi region, mainly in Uttar Pradesh. And for that they are prepared to start fire not only in the state, but destroy the very fabric of unity in the Hindi region.
