We are proud to inform you that Awam ka Cinema (People’s Cinema) is organizing a Film Festival in Kanpur. Kanpur has been an important destination during the freedom struggle and Awam Ka Cinema revisits the freedom fighters and their struggles, achievements and stories through panel discussions, exhibitions and film screenings.
The organization is in memory of the fighters fought unconditionally for the people. It is a celebration of the undying spirit and we recall Ganesh Chandra Vidyarthi, Suresh Chandra Bhattacharya, Ambika Prasad Bajpai, Maulana Hasrat Mohani, Bal Krishna Sharma ‘Naveen’, Rajkumar Sinha, Shaliggram Shukl, BK Dutt, Ram Dulare Trivedi, Dr. Gaya Prasad Katiyar, Haldhar Bajpai, Shiv Verma, Jaydev Kapoor, Mahavir Singh, Shyam Lal Gupt, Surendra Pandey, Shiv Kumar Mishra, Captain Laxmi Sehgal and show solidarity with Irome Sharmila.
Film screening of the following films will take place: Inquilab, My Body My Weapon, Gaon Choorab Nahi, The Man Moved the Mountain and Children of Heaven.
