First National Conference of Naujawan Bharat Sabha being held at Ambedkar Bhavan New Delhi on 26-27-28 September on the occasion of 107th birth anniversary of Bhagat Singh
Delhi, 26 September. On the occasion of 107th birth anniversary of Bhagat Singh, the first National Conference of Naujawan Bharat Sabha is being held on 26-27-28 September at New Delhi’s Ambedkar Bhavan.
There could not have been a better occasion to organize the first national conference of an organization which is inspired with the ideas of this great young revolutionary. It is to be noted that the name of the organization being founded by Bhagat Singh and his comrades in 1926 in order to provide an ideological base to the Indian revolutionary movement against the colonial slavery was Naujawan Bharat Sabha only. This name in itself symbolizes the resolve to revive and carry forward this great revolutionary legacy. More than 150 elected delegates coming from different parts of Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh. In the first two days of the delegate session the manifesto and constitution of the organization will be presented and passed and the election of the office bearers will be held and the outline of the forthcoming tasks will be determined.
The first session of the first day of the conference began with hoisting the flag of Naujawan Bharat Sabha. It was followed by the presentation of the report containing the description of the various agitations, propaganda campaigns and cultural activities carried out by Naujawan Bharat Sabha in the different parts of the country ever since its inception in 2003. The report was presented by Tapish on behalf of the convening committee. After presenting the report, the complementary statements were made by the delegates from the different units of NBS which included Yogesh from Delhi unit, Anand from Ghaziabad unit, Umed form Haryana and Chinder Pal from Punjab.
In the second session after the lunch break, the draft manifesto and draft constitution of the organization were proposed and the discussion took place on them. The aim of the organization is to unite the scattered youth movement in the country on the basis of the understanding of the correct orientation and to carry it forward as a integral part of the anti-imperial and anti-capitalist struggle of the masses. It is the responsibility of the youth inspired by the ideals of Bhagat Singh that they unite themselves at ground level against the religious fundamentalist and fascist forces by exposing the treachery of the capitalist politics.
Various fraternal organizations, woman oranisations, democratic rights organisations, student organization and intellectuals attended today’s session as guest delegates and observer delegates. The youth presented poetry and revolutionary songs during today’s session. Dr. Sukhdev Hundal from Sirsa delivered the welcome speech.
Tomorrow, the election of the office bearers will be held and on the third and last day of the session viz on 28 september which also happens to be the 107th birth anniversary of Bhagat Singh, an open session will be held in which apart from the delegates, the sympathisers and activists of Naujawan Bharat Sabha will take part. The conference will be concluded with a rally commemorating Bhagat Singh on this birth anniversary.
