Goons in the name of nationalism
Lucknow. Centre for Objective Research and Development (CORD) in a press statement through its Director, Athar Husain has expressed anguish at the brazen violence and assault by a ruling party lawmaker and lawyers who supposedly advocate justice, in the high security court premises of our national capital, all in the name of nationalism.
JNU students who were charged for sedition were produced in court and the law enforcement agency, Delhi Police remained mute spectator to this violence.
CORD wished that any person or group who indulges in sedition should be caught and brought to justice in a fair trial but as a nation we should be cautious that in the name of nationalism no individual should take law in their own hand and that too in Court premises and under vigilant eye of law enforcement authorities because India has a long tradition of democracy and Justice delivery system based on Rule of Law and such acts of over zealots give bad name to our democratic traditions specially when we as a nation have been under consistent spotlight in new World Order where India's democratic traditions are much talked about and we are also claimant for permanent seat in UN Security Council.
Athar Husain said, “We as Nationalist Indians have responsibility that our long term goals as a Nation should not get undermined by acts of some self-proclaimed Nationalists who unknowingly hurt our national interests by taking violent measures.”
