In this interesting discussion at Lok Sabha TV in 2013 , on the occasion of 60th death anniversary of M.N.Roy - the intellectual giant and revolutionary who was one the prominent policy makers of the Communist International during its early phase and who later on evolved the philosophy of Radical Humanism, anchor asks whey we lost M.N.Roy.
Prof. Rakesh Btabyal answers that “we have this uncanny habit of loosing our own intellectuals…..that it was communist party’s own apparatus of working where they denounce any one who does not agree with them… How can a party which bases itself on intellect, denounces an intellect of superior quality from its own league? And that is the reason that our marxist, socialist and all progressive movements actually die down because we do not like heretical arguments. And India is primarily a country of heretical arguments.”
