Using the term intolerance is quite misleading and it boosts the moral of Hindutva brigade, mind you.
Malda always had been agrarian and indigenous.
The Muslim demography is converted Buddhists who were converted after the fall of Pal Dynasty as since then the Sen dynasty ruled Hindu Bengal until Muslim rulers took over.
Mind you, Ballal Sen, not the Muslim rulers of Bengal as misunderstood launched a Ghar Wapasi campaign then to Hinduize Bengal in Brahamical system.
In reaction, most of East Bengal and Malda Murshidabad Mahayan Buddhists opted for Islam to skip the inherent caste system and untouchability!
Thus the Muslims in Bengal are popularly called NEDE meaning shaven head which recalls their Buddhist identity lost.

It began with the riots in Padm Bill Faridpur riot by Maa Kali which blasted off the Dalit Muslim unity in Bengal and Congress betrayed Fazlul Haq who himself ditched his party and the peasantry while leading Shyama Haq ministry. Shama means Shyama Prasad Mukherjee.
Situation worsened as Congress relaunched Muslim League as well as Hindu Mahasabha to have the power in Independent India and Bengal had the Muslim league governments back to back led by Najibullah and Suharawardy.
Even Kolkata had no history of communal riots but Direct Action called by Jinnah and executed by Suharawardy proved decisive to divide India.
Noakhali had sufficient Hindu population having Chitagong, Comilla and Sylhet around with Hindu or Buddhist majority.
But Noakhali riots were enough for the transfer of power bargaining, to finalize Cabinet proposals having marginalized Gandhi, Fazlul Haq, Khan Abdul Gaffar Khan, Netaji and Ambedkar who were against partition.
Hence ,the Malda direct action and the Terror Game of the reactionary fascist group opting for unprecedented hate campaign against Muslim community should not be overlooked.
Election equations for the next election in Bengal have made this scenario very complex as those ruling Bengal and those ruling India from New Delhi have joined hands to polarize Indian people vertically to continue the partition phenomenon and holocaust!

The violence is not communal violence nor did minority intolerance as miserably report in secular reaction, I am afraid to say.

In fact, JANGAN, neither the majority nor the minority is involved anyway in this violence in Kaliachak,a suburb in the outskirts of Malda town with Muslim Majority.
RSS claim of attacks on Hindus is nothing but the plan to use the hate campaign in UP and Bihar specifically and rest of India if not in Bengal where most of the people know the truth of Kaliachak where Muslims in Malda and rest of Bengal would never like to have a son in law or a daughter in law, as Kaliachak is an excluded humanscape by the Muslim society.

The demography there is ruled by anti-social and even antinational criminal elements which enjoy political protection most and police, administration and even BSF being their best allies.
The scenario is set ablaze as Muslims fear to trade Kaliachak lest they should be involved.
In fact Muslim majority demography in Malada is more or less concentrated in kaliachok, Sujapur, Chanchal, harishchandra pur and Ratua and partially in Pandua.
Moreover, in every Muslim majority area ,the Adivasi locality is a solid base of indigenous unity and no one dares to mislead them.
Mind you, our Adivasi people in Malda region are very awakened people.
Mind you, Kaliachok like situation occurred in Sujapur last year only but it was diluted.
Clash of business interest in smuggling, drug business, trafficking caused the clash between the BSF and a section of the Muslim dominated demography which was never communal nor the Hindu or Muslim communities in general were involved nor effected in violence and arson, reactions.
Because of political equations ,the political leaders like MPs, MLAs and Ministers from the region keep mum including most influential Gani khan family and Congress chief Adhir Chowdhury lest it might have an adverse impact in the next elections.
The Left seems to have lost its world in Malda and rest of Bengal and they have no position wherefrom they would dare to intervene to clean the mess!
It is RSS initiative all the way. Late BJP MP and Central minister in NDA ATAL government Tapan Sikdar used Malda as his political base way back in nineties.
Since the Muslims in Malda as much as inflicted with insecurity psyche just because of continuous persecution elsewhere as much as in anywhere countrywide, they dare not to stand with anyone speaking conscience a truth.
It helped RSS most because the way is ever lost for progressive elements in Muslim dominated demography anywhere in India and they would be interested only in Islam, faith, madrasa, Jamaat and so one.

Malda violence unprecedented! Malda is a district with majority Muslim population alone in India which never witnessed communal violence before.
Mind you, Malda had been a strong base of peasant uprising in seventies. Who brought forward this change?
