Just got some news of yesterday's UP poll in second phase, from a good friend in Mumbai. The news is based on his ground-level informants located in different districts of UP. Sum and substance is :
" Mayawati ne BJP ki Band Baja di !".
The main contest yesterday and in the whole of UP is between BSP and SP -CONGRESS.
BSP seems to be winning the Moradabad, Badaun, Saharanpur, Thana Bhanot and Gangoh. Keen contest is in Rampur between Azam Khan of SP and Dr. Tanveer Ahmed Khan of BSP.
The poor and downtrodden people are mostly voting for BSP. In Rampur, Shias are mostly voting for BJP. Whereas the Sunni vote is split between Azam Khan and Dr. Tanveer.
Yesterday armed supporters of Azam tried to terrorize the poor voters of BSP. Azam's son is losing to BSP????
This year being the 25th anniversary of the demolition of Babri Masjid, the minority vote in whole of UP is consolidating against the BJP because they don't want same party Govt both in Centre and State ( of UP ) particularly with the Babri Masjid case pending in the Supreme Court. While Mayawati seems to be ahead of others, whether she will win majority is not clear. She may have to form the Govt with Akhilesh and Congress support , though Mayawati has declared that if she does not get majority, she would prefer to sit in the Opposition.
My informant could not guide me on the crucial X-factor, how Mulayam Singh Yadav and his SP faction is working in favour of Mayawati.
The Media is discriminating and deliberately misleading regarding Mayawati's chances in UP election.
To me from all sources, it seems Mayawati is not only leading the pack, she is likely to get majority.
Mayawati-BSP is moving towards victory in UP poll. However, ultimately, it is for the people of UP to decide.
