'NO PLACE FOR BJP IN ASSAM': BRINDA KARAT
Guwahati (Assam), Mar 27 (ANI & staff): Senior CPI(M) leader Brinda Karat on Sunday said that there will be no place for the Bharatiya Janata Party in the upcoming assembly elections in Assam.
Karat further took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that just because the latter sold Assam tea doesn’t mean he has relation with the state's tea growers.
"Modi Ji, you say you have a special relation with Assam because you sold Assam tea, but you have no relation with the workers who produce that tea, the six tea tribes who you have refused to recognize as tribals. Please stop insulting with your jumlas." Said comrade Brinda Karat while speaking at an election meeting in support of the youngest candidate in the Assam elections, 25 year old comrade Sangitha Das.
Other speakers included comrade Deben Bhattacharya CC member and the State Secretary and others.
