US coal use for energy falls to 6% in 2018

The US drew 6% less power from coal in first half of 2018. The US coal consumption fell to a 35-year low, declining by 32 billion kilowatt hours, while gas rose by 89 billion, nuclear 16 billion, solar 7 billion and wind by 15 billion kilowatt hours.
