The caste Brahmins inside the party who are keen to make the party toe the 'soft' Hindutva line have been angry with Rahul's different approach. He has been mocked and debated much but the fact is that it is the strategy of these old guards of the party, who never won any election and are there due to pure 'chamchagiri' of the Gandhi clan they do not want any radical changes in the party.
Congress needs to throw away these old guards into dustbin and infuse young blood and diverse segments such as Muslims, Dalits, OBCs and Aadivasis in its leadership.
As long as Congress remains soft to communalism and corporate agenda, it does not have any chance to succeed. Congress needs to open up. It needs to focus on its organisation and bring young leaders into the party. Any attempt to be the 'B' team of BJP will not bring any results for the party. It has lost faith of Dalits, Muslims and OBCs purely because of the upper caste brahmanical leadership of the party foiled all attempt to bring these segments into the party.
