THE SOCIAL MOVEMENT OF INDIA (SMI) organized a programme to “Release the Book in Hindi language ‘Historical Speech by Baba Saheb Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedker Delivered on 14th of October, 1956’ at the time of his conversion to Buddhism” in the Press Club, Jammu today on 02-11-2015 (Monday) at 11:15 a.m.
Addressing the media persons, Mr. Hem Raj Phonsa, a very senior Social Activist, thinker and writer alleged that the Legislature, the Executive, the judiciary and the Media are, by and large, controlled by the upper castes in this country and all of them work against the interests of common masses viz. SCs, STs, OBCs & Converted Minorities from these communities as the so called upper castes want to secure and safeguard their own interests in all the religions. He further expressed that the victim masses are 91% of the total population of India from amongst all the religions, and the oppressor castes are just a micro minority of merely 9% of the total population of India. Despite that, the so called upper castes manage and occupy all the vital posts in the Legislature, Executive, judiciary and Media of this Country and instead of doing welfare of masses, they just perpetuate injustice and ruin their future for their own narrow interests and interest of their community only. Recent judgments of Apex Court as well as various High Courts including the High Court of J&K with regard to withdrawing the reservation in promotions is a glaring example of one such move of the so called upper castes.
Mr. Phonsa expressed that Baba Sahib Dr. B. R. Ambedker had already foreseen this problem and thus converted to Buddhism along with more than ten lakh people on 14th of October, 1956 at Diksha – Bhoomi Nagpur for their emancipation. The contents of speech delivered by Baba Sahib Dr. B. R. Ambedker and his 22 pledges (22 Pratigyas) are the crux of his whole life’s experience which, according to him, is the ultimate panacea for the emancipation of ‘Mulnivasis’ from the sufferings of Hinduism. Baba Sahib Dr. B. R. Ambedker had declared at Yevla, Nasik, Maharashtra in the month of April, 1935 that he was born as Hindu, it was not within his domain, but he wouldn’t die as Hindu, as it was within his domain. Ultimately, Baba Sahib Dr. B. R. Ambedker fulfilled his promise and adopted Buddhism and also advised whole of the S.C., S.T., O.B.C. population of India from Hindus to adopt Buddhism so as to end the sufferings of life. Unfortunately, this message of Baba Sahib Dr. B. R. Ambedker couldn’t reach to the poor and common people for the last 60 years, and now, as the message has reached us, we have decided to communicate this message of Baba Sahib to each and every person through the Book released today containing the original speech and pledges of Baba Sahib in Hindi language. SMI also plans to publish the same in English, Urdu and Punjabi languages and to distribute the same to each and every family free of cost so that all the Aboriginal Indigenous Indians viz. S.Cs, S.Ts and O.B.Cs from Hindus should be converted to Buddhists. This conversion of S.Cs, S.Ts and O.B.Cs from “Hinduism” to “Buddhism” would ultimately result into “Ghar - Wapsi” of all the Aboriginal Indigenous Indians and they would be a casteless society which would join hands with their blood brethren who had already been converted to Islam, Sikhism and Christianity so as to create a majority in this Country. This would ultimately result into bringing their own rule in this country which in turn would be used by them to end the centuries’ long sufferings because of atrocities and torture by the caste Hindus.
Mr. Phonsa further expressed that the S.Cs, S.Ts and O.B.Cs can never attain the status of upper castes in “Hinduism”, and now, they no longer want to remain “Shudras/Ati-Shudras” come what may. Therefore, path of conversion to “Buddhism” as shown by Baba Sahib is the only alternative. Moreover, it is worth consideration that in India, all the religious conversions except to “Buddhism” carried Hindu caste prejudice and affected the dignified life prospects of Mulnivasi converts. So, the path chosen by Baba Sahib is the real path for the emancipation of all the Mulnivasis.
Finally, the SMI thanked all the Press & Media persons who attended the programme, and also thanked its members, activists & leaders to make this programme a grand success.
