Review of Sachar Committee Report – on 22nd December,2016
Dear friends,,
The Sachar Committee, headed by Justice Rajindar Sachar (Retd.), veteral socialist leader, former Chief Justice of Delhi High Court and former President of PUCL (People’s Union For Civil Liberties), was constituted by the then Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh to prepare a report about social, economic and educational status of the Muslim community in the country.
The report presented in Lok Sabha in November 2006 was a mirror showing a true picture of the Muslim community. The findings and the recommendations of the Report was praised by large part of the intelligentsia and other sections of the society though there were some dissenting voices.

After ten years, the progress of the Report will be reviewed, particularly the implementation part carried out by the central and the state governments.
Socialist Yuvjan Sabha (SYS)m PUCL and Khudai Khidmatgar have organized a one day seminar for this purpose on 22nd December, 2016 from 11 AM at Gandhi Peace Foundation, 223, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg, New Delhi (near ITO Metro station).
