The Lucknow Odiya Samaj is organizing a talk by Padmashree Srinivas Udgata, an Odiya litterateur on 22nd August 2016 in the Tagore Library Auditorium of Lucknow University at 6.30 p.m.
He will speak on “Humanism and Changing Values:Current Challenges “.
Vidyavachaspati Padma Shri Dr. Srinivas Udgata (born 7th January 1935), is a poet, story and drama writer, painter, novelista and translator from Balangir, Odisha, India. He has been awarded Padmashree for Literature and Education. He received the Jhankar Award in 1974. In 2002 for his poetry he has received Bharati Bharati award from the Hindi Sahitya Sansthan of Uttar Pradesh. Besides these awards, he has also received the Sarala Samman in 2002 and Acharya Vidyasagar Samman from Calcutta. He received his D.Litt from Sambalpur University.
The title "Vidyavachaspati" awarded by Prayag Sahitya Sammelan, Allahabad.
He was President of Orissa Sahitya Akademi from 1994 to 1997. He is continuing as President of Atmaprakashani (A Writers' Association). He has been awarded & honored by more than 100 organizations in India. His poetries include PURABI, CHAROTI KABITA, APANARA GEETA, PUNASCHA PUNASCHA, PRATIMA APRATIMA, CHAITRA RATHA, SAMAYA NAIRA THILA, RUTAM.
His story books include PURNIMA, PARBATI, DIBYA PURUSHA, KIPARI KAHIBI MU RUNI, PATRA O’ ANYANYA KAHANI, CHHADA ANCHALA MAHABAHU, SEI SUBASITA ATMATI. His novels include NILA NAYANA TALE, KANTA, SESHA RATRIRA PRATHAMA SAKALA, SHILARA SAPAA, AHIRA BHAIRABA.
His transalated books include CHITRALEKHA, BIDYA, SABAJATRA, JHADA, ARTHANTARA, SANSKARA, KANNUPRIYA (Dharmabira Bharati), NILAHRADA O’ JHADA (Kamaleswar), ARTHANTARA (Chandrakanta), SOUBHAGYA NUPURA MANASA HANSA KARAKABITA, SURENDRA MOHANTYNKA NILA SHAILA. His drama includes REHEARSAL CHALICHHI. Other translations are BALA ITIHASA, KICHHI KAHANI, PAGALA GHODA, SHOBHAJATRA.
