New Delhi. The horrific case of honour killing of Bhawna Yadav on the intervening night of 15/16.11.2014 by her own parents shook the capital city. To pre-empt this and raise these issues, AIDWA General Secretary Jagmati Sangwan will accompany Abhishek Seth and his mother, Mrs. Bharti on 04.12.2014 at 3:00 p.m., to meet Special CP Law and Order, Mr. Deepak Mishra.

Twenty-one year old Bhawna married twenty-five year old Abhishek Seth on 12.11.2014 in a small ceremony at the Arya Samaj Mandir. Bhawna’s parents opposed the marriage because of its inter-caste nature (Abhishek Seth being Punjabi) and tried to break the relationship and forcibly marry her to a boy against her wishes. However the young girl stood her ground until Bhawna’s parents brutally murdered their own daughter by strangulating her to death.
ALL INDIA DEMOCRATIC WOMEN’S ASSOCIATION (AIDWA) has been supporting Abhishek Seth and his family in their fight for justice since the day this horrific incident took place.

Jagmati Sangwan said here, “AIDWA members along with Abhishek and his mother met all the concerned police officials - the ACP, SHO and IO in regard to this case but they did not receive a satisfactory response to their enquiries about the status of the police investigations and actions. It is shocking that some basic steps have not been taken, which will later weaken the case and allow the perpetrators to escape due to botched investigations.”
