The Ministers of the Government of India are in attendance at the three-day conclave of the Sangh Parivar in Delhi. Prime Minister Modi reportedly is to present himself there on the last day. During feverish debates in the electronic media, the spokespersons of the Sangh and BJP have asserted that it is not a case of the Sangh interfering with the working of the government but one of the Sangh's numerous progeny visiting the parent for receiving ' the Sanskar (value system )'of the family.

They have asserted that the Ministers are not there to present their report cards , but only to hear the views of the other progeny of the Sangh. Whatever the truth, it must be realised that Sangh's 'Sanskar 'is a far greater threat to the nation than its interference in a few decisions of the government.

What is the Sangh's 'Sanskar' that it periodically reinforces in its progeny including the BJP? The RSS was formed in 1925 to fight the Muslims on behalf of the Hindus in the context of the communal riots which were instigated by the British government in pursuit of their policy of divide and rule. Hedgewar, the founder of the RSS, unambiguously stated that the organisation was not to join the National movement but was formed to oppose "Yavan-snakes (Muslims), who reared on the milk of non-cooperation, were provoking riots in the nation with their poisonous hissing”. The policy of keeping a safe distance from the Freedom Movement also kept the Sangh safe from the repression by the government and attracted men who wanted to join an organisation without endangering their life, limb, liberty or property. During the 1930s, when Independence of the country appeared as a realisable goal, Sangh SAR Sanchalak M.S.Golwarkar began to think beyond rioting against the Muslims and of subjugating the Muslims and Christians in an Independent India. He found a role model in Hitler, who declared the German citizens of Jewish origin as the enemies of the fatherland (motherland in our usage), and found ' the final solution of the Jewish problem ' in their liquidation. ‘He has expressed his admiration for Hitler for his solution of the Jewish problem in his book we or Our Nationhood Defined (1938). Golwarkar does not advocate their liquidation but categorically states that they must not aspire to be treated on an equal footing with the Hindus in an independent India of his dream. He asserts that " the non-Hindu People in Hindustan must either adopt the Hindu culture and language , must learn to respect and revere Hindu religion , must entertain no idea but the glorification of the Hindu nation i.e. They must not only give up their attitude of intolerance and ingratitude towards this land and its age old traditions, but must also cultivate the positive attitude of love and devotion instead ; in one word they must cease to be foreigners or may stay in the country wholly subordinated to the Hindu nation claiming nothing , deserving no privileges , far less any preferential treatment , not even citizen's rights '(( emphasis added). This is what is meant by the Sangh's cultural nationalism.
When India won freedom, the Sangh realised that without a political party to pursue their goal of making India a Hindu Rashtra their cherished dream would never come true. However, the murder of Mahatma Gandhi in which they are believed to be involved followed by a ban on the RSS and their giving an undertaking that they would not do political work , delayed the formation of a political party devoted to pursue the goal of transforming India into a Hindu Rashtra .Eventually, they launched Bhartiya Jan Sangh in 1951 for the purpose .The Jan Sangh merged with the Janta Party to fight Indira Gandhi's authoritarian rule , but later when pressure was mounted on its leaders to quit the RSS , they instead quit the Janta Party itself and formed the BJP .It was natural for the members of an organisation committed to transform India into a Hindu Rashtra to not remain in a political party ,which was committed to secularism and democracy and stood in the path of its ultimate goal - a Hindu Rashtra as the Muslim League had achieved Pakistan as a Muslim Rashtra .
The Samanway Sabha of the Sangh is periodically held to reinforce it’s the fascist values and to inspire its progeny to work with determination for its cherished goal of a Hindu Rashtra.
To view and describe the Sangh Parivar as a mere communal and anti-minority organisation is like viewing Hitler and the Nazis as mere anti-Jewish. This view of the Sangh is myopic and suicidal. Hitler succeeded in misleading the Germans in believing that he was not against them but only against the Jews and the Germans who were making the Fatherland weak and vulnerable .The Sangh taking a cue from him has succeeded in misleading a large number of Hindus that they are only against the pampering of the minorities at the cost of the Hindus for their votes, and the Hindus have nothing to fear from them. Unless the people are made to realise that the Sangh's Hindu Rashtra would be as horrible for all Indians as is Pakistan's Muslim Rashtra for all Pakistanis including the Muslims , they would remain unaware of the grave threat that the rise of the Sangh poses to them and their future generations .They must be told that a theocratic India ( read a Hindu Rashtra ) , would be an authoritarian India in which competitive Hinduism would be the main-stay of politics with the Hindu Fundamentalists modelled on Taliban, Al Quaida, Boko Haram and ISIS occupying the centre stage in politics .As a Hindu Rashtra, India would be bereft of democracy, freedom and its liberalism and would be like Pakistan, Iraq, Syria , Yemen and the other unfortunate countries suffering from the scourge of religious fundamentalism.
